About Us
Shane Birckbichler is a Co-Founder of Still Water Capital. He began his career advising corporate clients on retirement plans at a publicly traded firm before transitioning to its M&A division, where he focused on acquiring independent financial advisory practices. Shane later joined a prominent family office, where he helped manage the acquisition, disposition, and operations of a $1B+ diversified real estate portfolio spanning multifamily, office, industrial, retail, healthcare, and ground leases. He went on to serve as CFO of a regional development firm, gaining broad exposure across real estate and corporate operations. Shane holds a BA in Business Administration from Furman University—where he was captain of the golf team—and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family and coaching his kids’ sports teams.
Marshall Looper is a Co-Founder of Still Water Capital. Marshall’s first business experience came from Saluda Valley Country Club, where he was elected to the board of directors while still a student at Clemson University. After one year as Treasurer of the board, Marshall was elected Chairman and oversaw the course’s operations. After graduating from Clemson with a degree in financial management, he started his own outsourced accounting and fractional CFO firm, which he still runs today. The firm focuses on providing small businesses with the data and tools they need to succeed. Clients range from healthcare to construction companies and everything in between. He earned a BS in Finance from Clemson University.
